UK tax & ISA
The figures, and what they leave out.
Realised gains for each UK tax year, built from the transactions you imported. Every exclusion is counted and shown beside the total, because a tax figure you cannot audit is worse than no figure at all.
Information, not tax advice. Nothing here applies a rate to your position or tells you what to do about it — and where a rule is stated, it is stated with its source.
General guidance only, based on your recorded transactions. Tax rules and rates can change, and your position depends on circumstances this app doesn’t know. This is not tax advice — consult a qualified tax professional about your own situation. Reference figures shown are for the 2026/27 tax year.

01 · The exclusions
Four kinds of disposal, kept apart.
Sheltered. A sale inside an ISA or a SIPP has no capital-gains consequence, so it is taken out of every figure on the page — and then counted, so the line reads “+2 in ISA/SIPP — sheltered, not counted here” rather than silently shrinking your total.
Untagged. If you have not told us an account’s type, its disposals are counted as taxable, because a general account is the cautious assumption for a reporting threshold. The count is shown separately with a link to fix it, so the assumption is visible rather than applied to you quietly.
Incomplete. A disposal out of a pool containing units whose cost we never saw would produce a gain figure we made up. It is excluded from gains and losses and counted, while its proceeds still count toward the proceeds total — because cash out is a fact even when cost is not.
Unreconciled. An instrument two imports disagree about is left out of the figures and said so, above them.
What this does not include
Same-day and 30-day matching. These figures are a pooled-cost basis. HMRC’s same-day rule and the 30-day “bed and breakfast” rule are not applied, and applying them can change the numbers. The screen says so beside the heading, every time it renders them.
Nor is this a liability. It is what your recorded transactions realised; what you owe depends on your circumstances and your other income, neither of which this product knows.
02 · The reference figures
Every number carries the year it was checked.
The capital-gains annual exempt amount is £3,000.00. HMRC asks for a Self Assessment capital-gains report once total disposal proceeds in a tax year exceed £50,000.00, even at a loss. Both are shown beside your own figures, side by side, as two facts — never compared into a verdict about you.
They live in one file with the tax year they were verified against, and that year is printed on screen: 2026/27. The reason is concrete. Dividend rates changed on 6 April 2026 — the basic rate went from 8.75% to 10.75% and the higher rate from 33.75% to 35.75%. A page that cannot say which year its figures belong to is a page that goes stale silently.
What this does not include
Reference figures are shown, never applied. Your marginal rate, your other gains, your losses brought forward and your allowances used elsewhere are all outside what this product can see — so it states the thresholds and stops.
03 · The schedule
Itemised, and downloadable as a file.
Every disposal in the year, with its date, instrument, quantity, proceeds, pooled cost and gain — open it on the page, or take the same rows away as a CSV your accountant can open without asking you what any column means. A disposal whose pool was incomplete is marked in the row, not just in the total.
Income is kept in its own table for the same reason: dividends, interest and reward receipts are taxed under different rules, so adding them to a gain would be a category error rather than a rounding one.
What this does not include
The export covers disposals we can see. Anything held on a platform you have not connected, or sold before your imported history begins, is not in the file — and the product does not pretend otherwise by filling the gap with an estimate.
Import your history and the tax year’s facts assemble themselves — with every exclusion named beside the total.
